Switzerland and Germany Travel

A TRIP TO SWITZERLAND AND GERMANY
Leave Atlanta 11 September at 5:00 PM.
Arrive in Zurich 12 September at 7:55 AM.
Pick up rental car at the airport in Zurich.
Stay overnight on way from Zurich to Appenzell.
Arrive in Appenzell 13 September.
Stay five nights at the home of Johann Ebneter in Appenzell.
Leave Appenzell 18 September.
Begin trip to Kaldenkirchen, Germany.
Kaldenkirchen is on the Netherlands' border.
Return to Zurich 1 October.
Return rental car to the airport.
Leave Zurich at 10:00 AM 2 October.
Arrive in Atlanta at 1:40 PM on 2 October.

This is a picture of Joseph Anton Ebneter found on his passport in 1929 when he made a visit to Niederbueren, Switzerland. Joseph was born in Kirchberg in 1865 and married in Sirnach to Barbara Thalmann in 1890. His father was Valentin Ebneter who married Maria Rosalia Wieland in Haeggenschwil in 1855. Joseph's brother Johann Wilhelm was born in 1866, one year after the birth of Joseph, and was married in Niederbueren in 1891.

This picture of the David Thalmann family was put together in 1904 in Wil, Switzerland. Pictured in the center is David Thalmann. David married Maria Schiltknecht in Sirnach, Thurgau, Switzerland in 1866. Their daughter, Barbara, was born in Wiezikon, in 1867.

Evangelische Kirche located at Kehrstrasse 59/61 in Nettetal-Kaldenkirchen. There was a Protestant meeting place since about 1650 which burned down in 1670. Paulus Küster married Gertrude Doors in 1668. In 1672 the church in the picture was built. This church and the nearby parsonage have been restored in past years. Paulus and Gertrude arrived in Germantown, Pennsylvania sometime between 1687 and 1691.
